The story of Dekofloor
The Dekofloor story dates back to 2011, when we started working with microcement and other decorative plaster products. Very quickly, we discovered a significant number of properties in microcement that did not match our perception of a quality product. The kind that our homes and public spaces deserve.
The man behind Dekofloor is Jukka-Pekka, who decided that Finnish construction deserves more. It deserves an decorative plaster that really works and that you can proudly stand behind. People are fascinated by seamlessness and beautiful surfaces, but poorly performing products frustrate and cause grey hairs, even damage, when they are not fit for purpose. We had to make a seamless bathroom a success, to last a lifetime. It had to be easy, quick and comfortable to install. When it was not available, it had to be done.
This started a project that resulted in Dekofloor, a most advanced version of microcement or any kind of decorative plaster
Years of close, international work on the development of similar products was a good base from which to push towards the goal: high-quality decorative plaster that is made in Finland.
It was clear from the start that quality would not be compromised.
No ingredient is in the product by chance and there is nothing superfluous about it. Dekofloor was created as a solution, not a compromise.
It cannot be said that the process was quick or easy, but the journey was worth it. We are extremely happy and proud to be able to offer a truly high quality, locally produced building material, designed for meet high standards, made here in Finland.
Where can Dekofloor be installed?
Because Dekofloor is extremely versatile, durable and reliable in terms of its technical characteristics, it can be installed in an almost unlimited number of different applications, provided the substrate is in good condition. Although Dekofloor is easily thought of as a bathroom surface material, Dekofloor is suitable for use in swimming pools, kitchen floors, sink,decks, furniture surfaces, floors in public spaces and even on slides. Is Dekofloor microcement?
In short: no. Dekofloor is a resin-based decorative plaster product, where what is similar to microcement is actually the appearance, technically it is a completely different product. Dekofloor has many advantages when compared to other decorative mortar and microcement products.
Durability
Thanks to its high wear resistance, the number of applications for Dekofloor is almost unlimited. Dekofloor can also withstand heavy use in public spaces, where necessary, so it can be installed without worry in hallways, bathrooms and even shopping centre floors.
Made in Finland
Dekofloor is manufactured and developed in Finland. The whole development process is based on Finnish wet room requirements and the surface material designed on this basis works reliably with in wet room structures. The Finnish product and manufacturing process provides security in terms of delivery reliability and the assurance of consistent product quality. Dekofloor is a complete system from the bottom to the surface, bringing both security and ease to the project. For example, when building a wet room, our system ensures a compatible and functional surface structure, from the waterproofing to the last coat of plaster.

Working comfort
All products in the Dekofloor system are water-based, which makes working with low-scented products more installation-friendly. As a finished surface, Dekofloor is completely "odourless and tasteless" and meets the most strictest indoor air requirements.
Touch of nature
A varnish is applied to the surface of the Dekofloor to facilitate cleaning. The lacquer is completely matt, so the natural look of the mortar surface is preserved and the finish is beautifully velvety.
